Project Overview
Wellington at North Bend Crossing is a newly developed senior living community in Cincinnati, Ohio. Austera Group partnered with ownership and development teams from early planning through installation to ensure a cohesive, elevated environment across the entire campus.
The design approach focused on balancing warmth, durability, and visual continuity across four floors, creating spaces that feel welcoming, intuitive, and purpose-driven from the moment residents and visitors enter the building.
Project Goals
Establish a cohesive interior design vision for a brand-new senior living campus
Create welcoming, functional amenity spaces that encourage socialization and engagement
Repurpose existing FF&E where possible while integrating new pieces aligned with an upscale aesthetic
Support wayfinding and neighborhood identity through color, art, and spatial flow
Our Method
Austera Group led the interior design strategy across all shared spaces, collaborating closely with development and operations teams to align design decisions with both brand standards and day-to-day functionality.
The team curated furniture, finishes, lighting, and accessories to activate key amenity spaces—including dining, theater, bar, and lounges—while ensuring durability and long-term performance. Accent paint colors and a comprehensive art package were introduced throughout the building core to brighten neutral palettes, support navigation, and reinforce a sense of place across floors.
The Result
The completed community delivers a refined yet comfortable environment that feels elevated without sacrificing warmth or familiarity. Shared spaces now function as true destinations, encouraging connection while supporting operational efficiency.
The finished design has been well received by residents, families, visitors, and staff, with consistent feedback highlighting the building’s inviting atmosphere, thoughtful layout, and attention to detail.
The Testimonal
One of the highlights is our Magnolia Trails memory care neighborhood, which features custom interactive art that truly engages residents and makes the space feel warm and meaningful.
The result is a building that feels elevated, while also warm and welcoming. Residents, families, visitors, and our team consistently compliment the beautiful, functional design. We couldn’t have asked for a better partner to help bring our building to life.”
